Wharfie,
Let's say they would be 10% less had we lived exactly as we are, but had continued a serious program to de-carbonize in '81
Then even that would be too much of a cost.

Think about how much of our economy was spent on disaster relief and recovery. Maybe 1%?

Think about how much less we could have spent on disaster relief had we reduced the severity by 10%. Now we're down to 0.9% of the economy.

Hardly a blip.

But hey, we can't put a price on human life, can we?

So let's estimate how many people died as a result of disasters, then estimate how many fewer people would have died had we reduced the severity by 10%.

It would hardly make a dent in overall population growth or life expectancy.

This is NOT the same as the COVID-19 pandemic, which claimed over one million American lives and impacted the long-term health of tens of millions.

THAT is a measurable impact. Not this climate changey thingy.

P.S. - And I never even got to talk about the water crisis in California and the Southwest. That I'll save for some other time.
