You make some good points, but don't forget a company is many things. Nobody disputes the potential of pulse technology. What's in play now is, does Joe have the ability to realize that potential. Not knowing Joe personally, the only thing we have to measure Joe by is what he says and what he does.
Now, the things Joe seems to be doing are:
Yesterday, according to Yahoo threadsters, he spent 3 hours on the phone trying to convince USA Today he's a pretty nice guy. To me, this suggests he's trying to influence the price of his stock rather than run the company. Now consider we are at a critical point in the history of the company and Joe is worried more about what the press is saying about him than making things happen at BAT. Nobody said it would be easy at the Top!
Second, in yesterday's press release, which I assume Joe wrote, he said BAT was getting into the power business. Well, this suggests Joe is scatterbrained--not focused. One day he wants to build composite cars with SKODA, the next he wants to build windmills. Scatterbrains may have a lot of good ideas, but they don't get a whole lot done because they are always changing direction.
These kind of things, call into question Joe's ability to manage the company--along with not filing with the SEC. Why don't you put a call into the CEO at GM or Ford and see if you get through. Bet you don't, because they are running a company with a plan, something BAT does not appear to have.
Joe really need to get that dyno test completed for Ford, it will go a long way with SKODA and the rest of the world. And then let's see where to go from there. |
