You just won a big VICTORY against the carbon tax to help farmers and make groceries more affordable.
Members of Parliament just passed a private member’s bill to remove the carbon tax from farm fuels such as natural gas and propane. This is great news.
The carbon tax on farmers’ natural gas and propane will cost $1 billion through 2030, according to the Parliamentary Budget Officer.
Saving farmers’ money helps all of us when we go to the grocery story.
Thousands of taxpayers like you called and emailed their MPs. And you got their attention. Every single MP for the Bloc, NDP and Conservatives voted for this legislation. There were even three Liberals who voted for it.
This is a HUGE victory and you deserve all of the credit.
Getting this legislation through the House of Commons is the heavy lifting, but there’s still a bit more work to do.
You need to make sure this bill passes through the Senate and becomes law.
