[Multi-mon], mon...

I went a little distance down this road last august. I, also, got only that vague reseller reference from Appian. From STB I got the following price list. Before we get too enthusiastic, we probably ought to consider real dollars. Again, these quotes are a little stale, from august.

The MVP product line is available for purchase direct from STB.

MVP Workstation (S3 Virge DX) Part # Price
2 port/4MB per port (8MB) 110-0530-005 $845
4 port/4MB per port (16MB) 110-0546-005 $1345

MVP 3D (S3 Virge) Part # Price
2 port/2MB per port (4MB) 110-0463-003 $699
4 port/2MB per port (8MB) 110-0483-003 $1099

MVP 64 (S3 Trio64)
2 port/1MB per port (2MB) 110-0481-002 $399

The MVP series cards work with Pentum-class systems running
Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 95.

You can take a 2 port to a 4 port via the
daughter card. The cost for the 3D is $465. The Workstation is $575.

So then add 3 new 17" monitors @$500 each and...

1099 4port/2mb/port 8m total 3d virge
1500 3 addition 17" monitors
----
2600 total

Perhaps I won't buy the new PC. I'll just buy the video card & monitors. :-(

Can't pick 2 vs 4 screens? The upgrade premium is slightly less on the Workstation setup. Cheers!
