Dwight,
In a hostile and everchanging business environment with competitive pressures varying minute by minute and one day looking completely different than the next, how are "former" employees going to privy to anything except what they knew when they left.
I am involved with the Airline business. When Tom Plaskett, a much heralded high level executive, left American Airlines in the 80's to head Pan Am the industry was aghast at the prospects of Chairman Bob Crandall's right hand man leaving for a competitor. Surely, everyone thought, he must be taking a head full of secrets with him from the most innovative Company in the business. When asked about this Crandall responded calmly that the airline business was so viciously competitive and the dynamics of that business change so rapidly that whatever info Plaskett left with would be useless in 2 weeks. The rest, as they say, is history.
I would think, Dwight, that whatever info these former employees left with is probably dated. The fact that an employee is no longer employed also makes one wonder why they are no longer there. Were they fired? Do they have an axe to grind with management? How recent is their info?
As far as responses go, I would appreciate a little less arrogant tone. I am not sure what you made clear. Thats why I am asking questions.
