Larry Bird was back this afternoon and kept me company while I was doing some
spring clean up in the back yard. He wouldn't eat out of my hand but did take
kibble when I put it down for him and he stayed for an hour or two.

I wondered if crows come back to where they were raised when nesting season
comes around, so I googled it and found this:

North American Crows do not breed until they are at least two years old, and most do not breed until they are four or more. In most populations the young help their parents raise young for a few years. Families may include up to 15 individuals and contain young from five different years.

So poor Larry will not be mating for a couple of years and has no parents to help
raise babies. He's an orphan. I guess that's why he was hanging around today - his
instinct is to come back home. I wonder what will happen.
