OFF TOPIC QUESTION>
Since this NETZ group is the largest and most diverse that I follow, I'd like to run something by you:
The entire penny, micro cap, OTC, reporting and non-reporting alike market has taken a bath lately. Yet I see the same names "promoting" stocks on other threads abandon of all caution. I am beginning to think there are as many promoters as investors on SI.
Is there a way to 'help' know who is a paid promoter, hypester, broker or otherwise has a professional interest in a stock? And can we somehow sort out from this pack the "private investor?"
If not, what if I were to start a thread where "public declarations" could be made stating to the effect of:
"I, [your name] freely and publicly declare and swear that I have never, nor do I still receive compensation of any kind from the selling of or promoting of stocks or other securities. Specifically, I am not a stock broker or paid promoter. I am not employed by the companies, subsidiaries, stocks or holding companies of which I publicly post comments. Furthermore, I understand that misrepresentation regarding my interest in a company is considered a fraudulent act by the Securities and Exchange Commission and is a Federal offense punishable by law."
Would ANYONE here dare to declare?
More importantly, would it make a difference? What are your thoughts? [you may email or private message me if you'd rather not clutter the NETZ thread] I would love to hear your opinions on this.
Thank you,
