I can't answer that question for your as risk tolerance is a highly individual thing.

My advice to you is to accumulate a stock that you wish to establish a position for in increments, and also keep in mind that software companies--no capital outlays, relative small fixed costs and less susceptible to cyclicality--should command a higher P/E multiple than hard core manufacturing companies. At least that is how the big boyz on Wall Street view it.
