Does anyone here know anything about Australian Cattle Dogs? We have a very responsible couple who want to rent our little cabin on the river, and they have one of these dogs. (He's 3 1/2 yrs old.) We've never allowed dogs in our rental, but we're willing to meet the dog and see how he reacts to us. (my other 1/2 has to go into the cabin on occasion to fix things, and he doesn't want a confrontation with an aggressive dog.)

We already planned on replacing the carpet after this couple moves out in a couple of yrs, so that's not an issue. What is an issue is how destructive these dogs are or could be? Do they chew, are they aggressive, and I do understand they are quite hyperactive. The owners live in a small apt right now and leave him home once in a while when they go to work. At other times they bring him along, but not always. We were told he "hides under the bed" when they're gone.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has had experiences with this breed of dog. TY
