Historic flooding in Ft. Lauderdale FL due to T-storms that just parked themselves over the area

Perspective: the annual average rainfall at FLL (1991-2020) is 68.77". So the city apparently got about 1/3 of its annual rainfall in seven hours today. Desert climates can sometimes do this (rarely), but it's astonishing to see it happen in a moist climate like SoFla's.
