I just received a big dividend on a foreign company stock that I hold in my Roth.

There was a large withholding taken from the dividend.

My quick reading indicates there's no offsetting tax benefit to me from the withholding, as the income is not subject to US tax (so no US benefit).

Is there any way to get any benefit from a foreign stock withholding when the stock is inside a Roth? Any idea?
