Sal - Performance isn't as big an issue as service and support--something which Linux lacks. If it were the case, Linux would have dominant market share, not Solaris (which is roughly on par with Linux, but a lot more expensive to buy). Linux is much better than Solaris. Faster, better support, source availabilty, runs on more platforms, and on and on. The Linux user community won infoworld's 'Best Technical Support' award for 1997. infoworld.com -justinb
