More Downside Risk?

For a second week in a row, the commercials increased their net short position in silver and decreased their net short position in gold. In gold the change was very small.

Ed Steer's Comments:

on silver:

"... from a COMEX futures market perspective, when looking at just the Big 4/8 commercial short position on an historical basis, the set-up in silver is still bullish ..."

and on gold:

So, from a COMEX futures market perspective, the set-up in gold is pretty bearish ..."

in general:

So, we're obviously not done to the downside as of yet

Check out the graphs this week as they show the build up in net short positions more clearly. They are labelled "Position: Short" under the tradingster links here and here.
