I will be surprised if Canada is not similar to the US when it comes to bringing an animal in from elsewhere. When I moved back to Texas years ago from another State, I had to put my cats in confinement at a Vet for ten days before they could be loaded onto a plane to be shipped as "cargo" to Texas. My cats were terrified upon landing. It took a while to coddle them back to normalcy.
