The article makes it seem as if there is a "rumour" that Cirrus is losing out in the graphics chip business ("many say", etc). Didn't Cirrus very publically announce that it has made the strategic decision to stop developing new stand-alone graphics chips in favour of integrated devices? It seems bad journalism not to mention that fact. Considering the increasing number of not-so-small competitors in the stand-alone graphics chip business (ATI, S3, Intel, SGS-Thomson/NVIDIA, Rendition, 3D Labs, Trident, Matrox, NEC, etc) it appears to be a wise decision to concentrate on a segment (integrated graphics/audio/modem devices) where there is much less competition.
