He sized up the angry demographic and what they want to hear. They want a "tough guy" too. He figured it out. He also figured out with the help of statisticians which states would give him a win, even without winning the popular vote. That might not be his doing but whoever figured it out was very clever. I never liked James Carville Jr. very much, but right now he's spot on and he got Bill Clinton elected. Great book short read, by a Phd. The Sociopath Next Door
