The main reason for the regional bank crisis is very simple. Many of the regional banks did not provide a high enough deposit rate to prevent deposits fleeing to higher interest rate vehicles such as T-Bills, CDs and money market instruments. In other words, the cause of the fall of the regional banks was sef-inflected, greed. Justice was served and will continue to be served.
