Bill:

The Johnson/Lett process does not involve "wet chemistry." It is chiefly a mechanical process that involves no leaches, soaks, etc. If anyone would like to read a foundational textbook on fire assaying that has quite a few chapters on preparation of material for fire assaying, I would highly recommend Edward Everett Bugbee's << A TEXTBOOK OF FIRE ASSAYING>>. It is now out of print, so you might have to search to find it, but many metallurgists, assayers and mining people swear by it.

Regards,

Kim W.
