Peter,

I always assumed that growth would be fast, not just low risk and that the company has very broad market opportunities. What has surprised me recently is the lack of corroboration of this thesis from other sources, and from the market

I would disagree that the market has not recognized Wind's growth potential. Look at the stock's performance against the other technology leaders over the last 3 1/2 years. Other technology stocks have regularly experienced long corrections, especially in their early stages of growth:

I think recent relative weakness in the stock is a short term phenomenon and has to do with some big players bailing out after deciding that I2O royalties will not be as dramatic this fiscal year as they thought. It doesn't mean the outlook for I2O has dimmed. Wind has over 50 I2O related design wins and all the big companies announced products in October and November. However, it is not surprising that a standard that affects the whole PC industry takes a long time to ramp up, especially when you don't get as much benefit unless usage is widespread.

Meanwhile, Wind's bread and butter markets continue to boom and we should see another great earnings release this month.
