Indeed, until the 2018 bubble, the crypto world was the far west. Slowly and surely it is reaching maturity. The best will survive and flourish.

You will noticed that the biggest scams were not decentralised blockchain based projects, but mostly centralized so-call financial companies that were dealing with cryptos.
