Wagner boss' reported efforts to sell out Russia's army are a serious threat to Putin's leadership, expert says. 'This was treason.' (msn.com)
Some interesting points raised in the article:
"It poses a challenge to Putin. For all his macho persona, Putin's a guy who doesn't like making tough decisions, he tends to put them off as long as possible, often too long," Galeotti said. This coincides with the way PooTin has been waging his war of choice. Even in his public statements, he continues acting like this is a "splendid little war" that will eventually conclude in his favor as long as he stays the course. And it's clear to me that his inner circle of kleptocucks is shielding him from all the bad news related to the sPeCiAl mIlItArY oPeRaTiOn.
"Is he going to essentially deal with Prigozhin ruthlessly as essentially a traitor? Which let's face it that is what this was. This was treason. Or does he look for some kind of fudge or pretend it's not an issue," Galeotti said. He said that if Putin chooses to ignore the issue, "this will reinforce the views of quite a few people within the elite who are thinking that essentially he's lost his way and is no longer the Putin as once was." The assumption here, of course, is that the Master Chef's treachery is for real as opposed to "fake news" from the U.S. It could very well be what the PooTin cucks on this thread call "PSYOPS."
However, all of the blasphemous statements coming from the Master Chef coincide with the report of his treachery. In other words, it seems plausible that he would trade the lives of RuZZian regulars in exchange for claiming "victory" in Bakhmut.
This indeed is something that PooTin cannot ignore. Nor can he nor the PooTin cucks simply dismiss this as "fake news."
Galeotti partly blamed the political system that Putin has created for the feud, which he said is a system of "divide and rule" that has resulted in "a whole variety of sharp-toothed political entrepreneurs with overlapping responsibilities competing against each other, trying to rip each other down." He said that system has worked well for Putin politically, but "really doesn't work well when it's transposed to the battlefield and you have all these multiple different sorts of private armies and different forces." This shouldn't be any surprise. PooTin's system of "divide and rule" has been reported on by multiple sources. And this system is starting to collapse on itself.
And finally, the reason why the Master Chef hasn't taken an unfortunate fall from a tall building ...
Kateryna Stepanenko, an expert on the Russian military at the Institute for the Study of War, told Insider's Ryan Pickrell that Putin having Prigozhin killed would '"undermine his appeal to the nationalists, who are the only people that are so inherently invested in his ideology and his belief in this war." This is exactly what I've noticed with regard to PooTin's propaganda. It is all aimed at the 25% of RuZZians who are Z-nationalists. (The other 75% are either depoliticized and in a state of political denial, or against the war but completely repressed by the state.)
PooTin needs the support of the Z-nationalists if he wants to continue his war of choice. Without them, his base of power would evaporate, and that would lead to his downfall.
