Tenchu's Thoughts: Lab LeaQ, Part 2 - Why Cover Up Something that Didn't Happen?

Report: China showed its hand, unwittingly verified Wuhan lab leak (msn.com)

This report is full of innuendo, second-guessing, and circumstantial evidence revolving around China's reluctance to share info regarding the origins of COVID-19.

Basically it provides a wealth of evidence showing that China was concerned about a lab leaQ before the outbreak. And it also provides a wealth of evidence showing that China was actively trying to cover up any investigations into COVID-19's origins, fearing that any answer would look bad for China itself.

But then the report concludes that, because of the cover-up, it MUST have been a lab leaQ.

I don't buy that.

First of all, ANYONE running a lab that does research on dangerous and infectious diseases SHOULD be concerned about safety. And given that this is the Chinese government we're talking about, where corruption is rife, it's highly likely that the budget for safety was a LOT lower than it should have been.

Fine, but that doesn't prove a lab leaQ occurred.

Second, the whole world knows that China is being less than forthcoming about the origins of COVID-19, because every plausible theory would look bad for them.

If the source was zoological in nature, it could point to their failure to control their wet markets.

Or even if their wet markets had nothing to do with it, the fact that it originated from China still looks pretty bad, because it's just bad karma.

And of course, the possibility of the lab leaQ would be absolutely devastating for the Chinese government.

That's why the official position of the Chinese government, namely that it came from the Americas or wherever, is something so ludicrous that only an absolute idiot would believe it. Not even the most ardent of anti-American trolls on the Internet are spreading what the Chinese government believes.

But no, the intransigence of the Chinese government doesn't prove the lab leaQ.

"But but Tenchu, why would the Chinese government cover up something that never happened?"

That's the thing. They don't know what happened any more than we do.

The difference is that they have a vested interest in making sure NO ONE ELSE ever knows what happened, either.

Hence the cover-up.

So no, Sen. Rubio. Your report doesn't prove anything about a lab leaQ. All it proves is that the Chinese government wants to cover up the truth, no matter what the truth is.
