Cody: Predatory pricing in my post described what Standard Oil did to drive regional competitors out of business. They lowered their prices to below their competitors break even point throughout that competitors service area until they went belly up or sold out to them. They raised prices in areas where they had a monopoly to offset the losses in the targeted area. They repeated this process throughout the nation. The government broke up the monopoly exactly because pricing , in these cases, was not being determined by the supply demand curve. Best Regards Greg Gimelli
