Dci Telecommunications Divisions Develop Wireless Sensor Technology For Monitoring Systems
FAIRFIELD, Conn., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- DCI TELECOMMUN , of Fairfield, Connecticut, announced today that two of its divisions have jointly developed a wireless sensor technology which is expected to revolutionize the ability of various systems to monitor almost any condition.
R&D Scientific Corporation and Alpha Products Corporation, which are separate operating divisions of DCI Telecommunications, have developed and successfully tested the product.
This revolutionary technology will immediately be utilized in R&D Scientific's DATATRON monitoring systems which are used extensively in the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Blood Bank industries. Both of these industries operate under the Federal laws governing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and are closely regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. "DATA-SAFE" technology developed by R&D Scientific guarantees the integrity of acquired data, thereby enabling Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Blood Banks to conform to FDA desires for data security. R&D's systems are the only totally tamper-proof PC-based systems on the market.
The "wireless" technology is not dependent on radio signals, but actually sends digital signals over existing electrical wiring. This technology will completely eliminate the cost and need for independent system wiring and the signal and magnetic noise problems so often associated with hard wired systems. Additionally, because there is no "hard wiring" involved, systems utilizing this new technology become instantly portable.
Alpha Products designs, develops and manufactures a variety of solid state electronic boards, which are used for a variety of PC-based computer operations.
Joseph J. Murphy, president of DCI Telecommunications, stated, "This is a clear indication that DCI's philosophy of bringing various companies together by acquisition, merger or joint ventures is continuing to work. The various companies under the Corporate umbrella which each have individual strengths, will continue to contribute even more to DCI's growth by cooperating in the development of new technologies and products."
