Don, the only thing that is happening is that more and more people have very high def camera still and video and software and highspeed internet to send weather action to news outlets. If you look at the year over year data for Hurricanes, Tornado, wild fire acres, drought, floods, they have all decreased. But the millions of smart phones have captured all manner of OMG stuff that makes for compelling video.

TV stations have roaming live feed capable vans going to where any action is. We have a weather guy who drives around in every storm looking for the action.

Local channels show vids from everywhere. But year over year data shows lowering extreme weather.

Violent weather is driven by cold air following the jet stream south and warm tropical air following the jet stream north. IF there is global warming then there is less cold air to be driven south.

Does someone believe that CO2 somehow drives the jet streams. At times they are a low amplitude sine wave and weather fronts move west to east at more constant rares. Now it seems we have huge north south gyrations that move more slowly west to east. Where a vertical extent pauses you have huge rains or snow falls as they also control the meeting of high and low pressure.

But global warming means smaller temperature gradients. The smaller the gradient the weaker the wind.

From a science perspective there are only propaganda argument devoid of any science opining that CO2 is causing any global warming or absurdly catastrophic warming.
