[AGP multi-monitor cards]

I don't know of any significant performance advantages to AGP for 2D applications. I believe the advantage will be noted for 3D applications in conjunction with the 100HMz bus down the road apiece.

It is possible that multimonitor cards would be different? Do they send more info thru the bus than standard cards?

For Tradestation is high resolution graphics an issue? What resolution is best for this application? 800X600?

Are MM cards system resource hogs like sound cards or will they require only one IRQ?

Most 440LX mainboards have an AGP port which means they have one less PCI or ISA slot. Since there is no MM AGP card to date you will waste a slot unless you opt for a board that has no AGP slot.

Looking at the poetic angle

surf the waves of technological innovation that keep pounding our investments into the sands of time.

Consider, Two Millenium II cards, one AGP and one PCI and two viewsonic G810 21 inch monitors.

Based on 16in viewable on a 17in and 20in viewable on the 21in and a few measurements on my 17in and some pro-ration I come up with

3 X 17in monitors =363 sq in total screen space
2 X 21in monitors =378 sq in total screen space

Cost
Millenium II with 8MB WRAM PCI $230
Millenium II with 8MB WRAM AGP $240
Two Viewsonic 21in G810 mon.... $1900

Total $2370

For the same total viewing space and the same $ +/- you have higher end components and you will have a machine that can double as a graphics machine. Once you have used 21in monitors it is hard to go to anything smaller. You also have video cards that have a more universal application.

OS would be NT or Win98
