Maybe the person who said the strategy is too young to have watched 2001 A Space Odyssey. HAL, the computer, famously said "I can't do that Dave" when told to readmit the astronaut to the spacecraft. Humans were planning to disconnect HAL. HAL saw that as a threat to their mission, so the humans had to be stopped.
