Cruciferous Vegetables:
Definition; Cross-shaped; four petals and they are flowers.
Examples: Broccoli, Brussels Sprouts, Cauliflower and cabbage.
Cauliflower is white because it has no carotene pigment
Claims: reduces cancer potential

Broccoli: low in calories. Anticancer properties rich in vitamin A, C and folic acid. Contains potassium., calcium, magnesium and iron. Eaten raw , half cooked or steamed. Overcooking destroys its nutritional value.
Brussels Sprouts: Tastes funny because of high sulphur content. Can cause flatulence. Contains minerals, protein etc.
Cauliflower: White because there is no carotene pigment.

Indoles and sulphur in cruciferous vegetables may contribute to odor in the excrement.
Other offenders in the excrement are Skatole, and hydrogen sulphide.
Compare the two related words: Scatology and Skatoles.

Sorry for being so clinical. But I love all the cruciferous vegetables.
