Phone security it seems to me is all about perception so far, I tried to find actual statistics and almost every article written about Android vs iOS security mentions "reasons", basically opinions, without publishing the amount of break ins.

Google Search: actual security problems android vs iphone statistics

Here's the only exception and its not actual break ins its "vulnerabilities"...

According to recent statistics, Android had 547 vulnerabilities in the year 2021, compared to 357 for iOS.

Overall, the number and severity of vulnerabilities may vary depending on the platform, but both Android and iOS are vulnerable to attacks.

Pretty wishy washy results. What's a vulnerability? Most I think would be so hard to exploit, malware writers don't have the skills.

I'd love to see real statistical results but I doubt that'll ever happen. For example corporate security experts aren't going to tell us about break ins. The corporations can't afford to look lax and the experts can't afford to look incompetent.

I definitely think OSX is superior to Windows but not to ChromeOS... however Apple seems to be lagging in the AI area and that's probably where serious exploits will happen or be blocked by in the future.

So far its basically opinion. Forbes article says iPhones are NOT more secure. But its actually the "opinion" of a guy who runs a security software company. Take with a grain of salt.

Mostly its software security companies trying to scare phone users to sell products.

As I've long said I don't bank on my phone, and yes not everyone can afford to upgrade often. And my 5 or 6 year old android phone works just fine for me. I phones are expensive.

Just as an aside... who do you think knows the most about you? AMAZON... they can figure out everything about who you are... the more you buy the more they know. I never hear anyone mentioning them.
