MSFT and IOM? Apples and Rotten Oranges

MSFT has a long track record of conquering virtually any market they want to. Sure they have had setbacks, but their reputation for increasing revenues and shareholder value has a long rich history in the market. This is why it has been afforded a high PE. They kick butt.

Iomega? If you bought in about 2 years ago, you wouldn't have made a dime on your investment. This corporation has a track record of not treating its shareholders well (more like contempt!). Iomega is basically a one product company whose growth rate is slowing dramatically. In fact, Ditto most assuredly will decline even more, and the Jaz line has the real possibility of a sales decrease year to year as well. Zip sales are not increasing at a rate that would inspire would-be investors that it will become prevalent in all, or even most computers soon, and Sony looms on the horizon.

Comparing MSFT to IOM is like comparing Uma Thurman to a lice ridden bar whore.
