i am a phone guy. Was designer and program leader for Qualcomm handsets.

Yea, powered it up and down many times, tried every possible settings I can find, went through all possible ways to limit the apps, etc.

It is inherent in the basic IOS16.5 release itself. I notice on the IOS17 beta they are disclaiming that the battery life will be bad already.

It is like it is using too many cores at once instead of using the minimum to get by for the activity level involved.

I have noticed that it gets very hot, even while in my pocket even when I have swiped all apps off the screen and deleted them. All closed. Still gets hot.
