Jack Dorsey’s plan for decentralized social app may be thwarted by Apple’s strict payment rules Apple said in a statement that the company reviews “all apps against the same set of guidelines that are intended to protect customers and provide a fair and level playing field to developers.” ----- The idea that Apple is "benevolent" is a fantasy. The above statement is clearly a lie to protect: Apple has a long history of prohibiting app makers from using in-app payments to sell additional content or add-ons, unless those payments go through Apple, which takes a 30% cut. ----- I'm just the messenger on this, Apple can do WTF they wanna do. I just thought it was interesting in light of FBs intention to offer a TWIT alternative, and this seems to be a competitive app too. And of course Apple's thinly veiled reasoning for rejecting it.
