| | | Bill, Grocery bills are always higher than inflation. Look up what is and isn't included in the inflation figure. That's irrelevant. Over the past several years, inflation has been measured by consistent metrics.
Even without counting groceries (and some other key costs of living), inflation was pretty damn high. Like Carter all over again.
No one had any clue how to bring it down. The deceptively-named "Inflation Reduction Act," by any objective measure, would have actually increased inflation.
That bill would have been like Alexandria Occasional-Cortex's way of solving inflation, which is to print more money.
In any case, inflation is now lower than before. That's probably due to macroeconomic factors like supply chain issues finally resolving themselves.
A lot of factors that happened in 2022 are also fading away, like the diminished effects of PooTin's war of choice, the relatively low price of oil, the start of "onshoring," etc.
Brandon, of course, is going to take credit for that.
Then he'll look at his cheat sheet as he tries to find his way down from the podium ...
