<< At each of these stages, Intel acts aggressively to

can't handle the bandwidth, Intel will invent new buses.
If core-logic vendors and motherboard suppliers don't
adopt the buses, Intel will build core logic or
motherboards. If applications don't need the
performance, or if users can't get enough network
bandwidth to use it, Intel will nurture applications and
seed broadband networking development. >>

I love it! I think Gordon's new saying should be, "If they won't build it, it will still come." :-)))

Other Intel pop culture thoughts,

It amazes me to see the rising costs of the semi equipment end as chips get smaller and more powerful. The number of big semi companies Must get smaller in the years to come, in my opinion. This bodes well for...well, you know. ">)

Even though the 740 is all over the place in the press, I have yet to meet anyone (I do leave my apartment and I do know a lot of people with PCs:-) that has a clue that Intel is launching a new 3D chip. The reason I have a smile on, is that it is certain that all Oems know and it is a matter of a short amount of time before people think '3D' before they buy a system. :-)

I finally got my own copy of Inside Intel. I have to say, I have only read parts of it thus far, but it is highly, highly amusing! I think Tim Jackson tries to make most of the Intel higher-ups out as crazy serious stress freaks with no senses of humor...LOL! I've read plenty of your posts and read too many interviews with Andy to know that business is not only business, but its also quite fun to do extremely well in a high pressure business. :-) Perhaps, it's even addicting?

From reading a good deal of analyst reports and interviews in mags like Red Herring and Upside(and books like Inside Intel), it still remains clear that the only people that fully understand the semi industry are the people in it, not the people reporting on it. The day this changes will happen, but I don't anticipate anytime soon.
More power to the little people like me that have too much time on their hands. :-)

all imho, of course,
