David:

"Shared internet line..." My understanding is that Erols saves money by grouping as many as 20 customers on the same internet line. This works fine for the customer who merely leaves his computer logged into the internet for mail purposes and occasionally searches on the internet for information.

However, if you use your ISP connection for more intense purposes, such as daytrading multiple active stocks with streaming Level II data on each... ==> Your internet speed can be bogged down by sharing the line with other customers, which can create havoc and frustration while daytrading big $$$ positions and losing your datafeed due to your ISP connection.

Erols does offer a "dedicated" line (no line sharing) to its customers for a higher price. I forget what the cost is, but it is well worth investigating for any active daytrader who uses the internet for level II datafeed.

Happy Trading,
-Eric
