Charles:

The Johnson/Lett process is an extraction methodology and a preparation methodology for a standard fire assay. It is a matter of scale. The essence of the process is that it takes complex/refractory ores and converts them to standard ores so that standard means of assaying and recovery can then be used.

Most complex ores have a variety of pretreatments that are applied to them before they are subjected to a standard fire assay, as the refiner that you spoke to indicated. If pretreatment of complex ores before subjection to a standard fire assay were not allowed, you would have to throw away the vast majority of all assaying textbooks, and cancel out a great portion of all assays that have ever been done.

Heat is also a part of the process. At this moment I don't know what the BTU usage per ton is - most of that will be apparent after the large pilot plant comes on line. The last projection that I heard for the large pilot plant was sometime in the second quarter of this year. In the meantime, there is a smaller 1,000 pound a day test plant at Death Valley Junction that will be operating shortly.

Naxos has received permits that will allow the company to do extensive drilling of the playa at Franklin Lake. You can download the latest news release from www.naxosresource.com that gives the details about the permitting. In due course Naxos wants to establish reserves and run feasibility studies on the playa.

I hope that this has been of help.

Regards,

Kim W.
