I remember how long AAPL's P/E was well below that of its tech peers even though it had turned around after Steve Jobs returned and was quite profitable.

I think that was true for awhile even after the iPhone introduction. It took some time before Mr. Market respected Apple as a cash generating behemoth and valued it fully.

As for Shawn Tully and his ilk, Apple will always be "beleaguered" and ripe for a tumble. You can always turn over a few rotten logs in the stock market forest and find analysts who want to bring AAPL down.
