I agree with you and with Brian. There's a better case to be made for "one stop shopping" if AMAT fills the holes they have versus more concentration in existing businesses. One thing that I still haven't been able to figure out, though, is a comment Morgan made in a conference call a few quarters ago. He said that AMAT was gaining market share in etch at LRCX's expense (he still says they are gaining share in all their markets - he just doesn't mention LRCX explicitly); yet every annual market share report I see says LRCX is still #1 in etch and not losing ground (the reason I still own the stock). What gives??
