Rod,

<Look, the Zip product is a highly unreliable but useful product for
temporary information transfers; as a storage device it's utterly useless. I know that, you know that, the market knows that, the analysts know that, the sane among us know that.>

I having been using ZIP's for almost 2 years including a SCSI internal, a parallel external, and my notebook ZIP. I use ZIP disks on a daily basis. I have yet to have a single failure or lose one bit of data. We also use them at work and to communicate with some of our vendors. I have yet to hear of a single failure incident. I had plenty of 3.5" failures when I use to use those.

In fact, while I'm sure there are infrequent failures, like with every other type of drive, I have yet to hear of any ZIP failures among my friends, co-workers, or family.

Perhaps this will change if Naomi if gets their product released in the US <GGG>. As it stands now, I have found ZIP's reliability to be truly amazing.
