Do you really think the J6 arrests are a waste because its something that is not likely to happen again?
Of course not. The insurrectionists all deserve their fates.
But this incident involving 23 or 35 people in Atlanta is a serious risk to the republic?
Pretty much. Look at how many came from out-of-state. They're professional rabble-rousers.

From a certain point of view, you can also call them insurrectionists, given how they are trying to dismantle the institutions of government and law enforcement.

My goal, however, isn't to justify one side or the other with "whataboutisms." My goal is to point out that they're two sides of the same coin.

They're all antithetical to (small-L) liberal democracy.
