Brumar, One, how do you know? The minute any anti-Asian hate crime perp shows up in MAGA gear, it's going to make national headlines. It's simple supply-n-demand. The demand for such evidence is sky-high, while the supply is low.
Two, why did Trump talk so much about China, the China virus, etc? Why did he attack "China loving Coco Chow" by name? It would be amazing if he's the only MAGAt who attacks Asians as villains. During the pandemic, there were many cases of Black customers in Asian-owned shops going around saying the exact same thing, that COVID-19 was an Asian thing, that they shouldn't be forced to wear masks, and ain't no one gonna disrespect them, blah blah blah. (Many White patrons did so as well, to be sure.)
Bottom line is that Trump exploited anti-Asian hate, but he didn't create it. Asians all over the world were looked upon with suspicion by those who are inclined toward racism (which makes up the vast majority of the world's population, unfortunately).
