as a kid i loved sailing Same for me .. My mother's side of the family were all into boating/yachting in a big way .. My maternal grandfather always had something .. in the 45 to 60 foot range .. sailboats when he was younger and power boats later in life .. I grew up in a small coastal resort town in southern New England .. Just like you I was sailing sunfish and bluejays in the junior sailing program at our local yacht club .. By 16 I was the paid hand on a 50 foot yawl .. The owner was a keen offshore sailor so I got to do several Newport to Bermuda Races .. SORCs and the spring Series on Long Island Sound .. After college I was sailing master/captain of a 90 foot IOR racing yacht .. Spent two years campaigning her worldwide .. TransPac .. Cape-Rio were our longer races .. Summer series in the Med .. I was very fortunate to have had that experience .. The yacht was too big to ship from event to event so we sailed her every mile of the way .. The delivery trips between major events were the best part of having this job .. I got to choose where we went and how long to stay at each port .. Around the world ( east to west ) at 20 degrees south latitude .. Triff ..
