TD Ameritrade gave me no hassles. I have a feeling I won't like Schwab. Maybe I switch to IB
Interactive Brokers does not allow to hold MLP in retirement accounts at all. I ran into this issue many years ago and they forced me to sell my MLP or they would do it for me. (the holding was LAACZ unfortunately)

Yes selling MLP shares or mergers can create UBTI.
