There was a report out yesterday that FoxConn cancelled a 20 billion dollar project with an Indian partner to make chips in India. I think that is the reason why Apple shares were down yesterday. FoxConn is not cancelling all of it projects in India, just the chip making one so Apple is still working on diversifying their supply chain in India. But they will need a new partner to do the chips they were planning for India. This was seen on the ped30 site.

On the ped30 site today they talk about a group of new analyst reports that are negative on Apple. One of the reasons in one of the reports seems a bit ridiculous to me, mostly talking about how Apple shares will go down because they will stop buying their own shares, which I don’t think they announced. In fact, they announced the opposite, more money for share buy backs. I don’t disagree with the premise that Apple shares are overpriced right now but I feel that way about the whole market. Singling out Apple because you are short Apple for invented reasons seems a bit stupid for me but then there are analysts out there that have never gotten what Apple is all about.

Still holding my shares but, since I am retired and no other income, I may sell some shares and then buy them back to get the lower capital gains rates we are presently seeing.
