I think the way to explain the importance of the shoe is to explain why Oakley is down in the first place. After they announced they were getting into shoes, they had a couple of real boner statements made by management as to achieving earnings. After an analyst down graded them, they fired back with the street predictions were too conservative. The whole situation stacked up to where investors had to ask themselves if management really had a plan or not. The release of the shoe should answer a bunch of questions to us about where they are spending their time and money for expansion of market. Who cares what Jordan or Rodman can do for the shoes (or the rest of their surplus of pro athletes). Oakley needs to be in control of their own destiny and only Oakley management can do that. I'd still like to know if they plan to bring the product of the ONExcell (sp?) purchase to the mass market. I still think that would make a great cycling helmet accessory (or any other helmeted sport like skiing). Oakleys silence in these areas means one of two things. Either they still have no plan or they have a very elaborate plan that will be announced in the near future. They owe the investors that much and they owe themselves that announcement to drive stock prices up.

My two cents only

Greg
