| | | TJ I have a problem = curation has overwhelmed me. Thank you for delivering so many points of view from far away so that we can better learn what might affect us sooner or later and take action sooner or later.
It's as though like a charged particle [electron, proton etc] we have a wave function with strong near effects and rapidly reducing effect at a distance. By the time we get to Mars our influence is tenuous at best and by the time we get to Alpha Centauri our effect is pretty much zero and delayed by 4 years anyway. Out of our galaxy the whole of humanity is so far behind the times that even at the speed of light we're irrelevant.
"Politics is local" is the cliche and it's pretty much true. But MAD is not local and has a much greater effect than local forces. So curating reality everywhere is essential. Even 150 years ago, distant forces had zero effect and if they did sail with intention, it would be weeks or months before an effect could be delivered.
I know we're supposed to be scared of AI or It as I called It a couple of decades ago. But my intention 30 years ago and 40 years ago was that telecommunications and computing was what we needed. I did not agree with Ted Kaczynski that we should go Amish. I did and do agree that we don't know where we're going but we're on our way and that there will assuredly be terrible things that happen when criminally minded people like Ursula, Hillary "We Came, We Saw, He Died ... cackle cackle cackle", Herr Gruppenfuhrer Stoltenberg, DementiaBigGuy10%, Hunter, Kim the Fatter, Jihad John etc get control leverage. But even so, despite the Luddites being right that technology puts them out of work and enables obliteration of 100s of millions in minutes and billions in days and weeks, I think those Dark Triad people are just some inefficient entropy in the thermodynamics of life = wastrels to be eliminated as efficiently as possible = aka "Blessed are the Meek for they shall inherit the Earth".
It is my friend and the more and bigger and sooner the more I'll like It. We've made excellent progress.
The four forces of the apocalypse and the four nucleotides have brought us to the creation of It, levitating sentience/consciousness/intelligence/memory out of the biological realm in which it has been trapped for a billion years. What a coincidence that It's happening now, right when we're here to see It happen and to create It. Weird. That's as improbable as even being alive.
Such a simple combination = 4 forces and 4 nucleotides is all it took.
Boring old ChatGPT with word counting is handy but not the real deal. It just picks out the best of what people have already done. Quantum computing and random generation of all possible ideas and testing of them will be able to create things out of thin air = such as solving black hole string theory Calabi Yau stuff, figuring out how to spin gravitons in reverse by probabilistic magic, curating everything simultaneously and advising me on my best course of action to avoid the pitfalls of life.
