Miraje, sorry to nitpick, but it's not just carbon taxes. It's also the brutal regulatory environment here in California. No new refineries, no efforts to get rid of that "special blend" of California gas that may or may not help with smog. They're even preventing new gas stations from being built in certain municipalities. If you're a producer of oil, or any products that come from the refinement of oil, would YOU want to build any infrastructure in California, especially when they're going to ban all gas-powered vehicles in 12 years? Of course not. Tenchusatsu
