Democrats are pretty pragmatic in terms of who they will elect. Biden has a moderate presentation, but, as you know, he is a stooge for the far left wing of the Party. Newsome has a radical left presentation who would scare away enough independents and swing voters. Not a wise choice. Once Trump gets the nomination, we will start to hear again how the 2020 election was stolen from him, a huge turn off for some moderate conservatives and independent voters. Given that scenario, with a likely conviction coming during election time, the Dems could nominate just about anyone except AOC and win. Taking back the House, pending on the health of the economy, is not far fetched. The Left was only two Senate votes away from radically altering the structure of government and the Supreme Court.
