Daler, Thanks for the Byte link. A good overview of what is available and some of the biases against FC. I would highly recommend it to everyone investing in FC. Some of the concerns about integration with legacy systems seem to ignore Ancor solutions. For example this excerpt: "Another big problem with Fibre Channel is its lack of integration with legacy storage devices and networks, notes Kon Leong, president of GigaLabs, which is a manufacturer of Ethernet switches. For instance, there is no Fibre Channel-to-Ethernet bridge, and you need a SCSI-to-Fibre Channel bridge to use current SCSI devices on a Fibre Channel network." Seems to ignore this Ancor solution: ancor.com But then again, Gigalabs is currently trying to promote their own switched SCSI solution. George D.
