Ahh-then we should have done what Ammo suggested---knocked her down and walked back in, stepping on her stomach as we did so. He has a nice straightforward approach to problem solving. We found the people in general to be very nice to children, taking time with CW to try to understand his rather fractured French. His worst experience was ordering a hamburger and it came with an egg on top-which seems to equate with the American lettuce and tomato, but thoroughly grossed him out. So I ate the egg.
